Too short!!
I had been really looking forward to getting this game, but I completed it in 2 days (couple of hours each day). The first game is much better in my opinion (on PS2). Very dissapointed. Good point was episodes of animated transformers which could be unlocked as extras, but still only 3 episodes.
Enjoyable smash-up
Having played through both the first and the last game, I must admit the first game is definitely better on most counts. Revenge of the fallen in campaign mode is way to short, as another reviewer pointed out, it is possible to play through the entire campaign very quickly, perhaps 6-8 hours max. This game is also easier than the first, not in the least by virtue of being able to play with two person co-op, with the second player only capable of shooting with the wii-mote. That is a great addition and also adds to the fun factor, especially when playing with younger gamers, who may have problems getting through the game on their own, but it makes some levels too easy.
The game hardly follows the 'story' of the movie, except for the locations of different levels and some bare-bones cut scenes. The main human characters don't even make it to the cut scenes, unlike in the first game. In all honestly that is hardly a negative point, this game is about transformers and they look and move very impressive. Even though you do not actually are allowed to transform at will (except through special fight moves), the game is still fun. The graphics look great (for the Wii), the fighting and destruction, the experience of running havoc in several locations is still very enjoyable, although less engaging than the first game, mainly due to the lack of an open level design. The boss fights are the only real tricky bits, but mainly because it isn't always clear what needs to be done to finish them off. You are tasked to play both as autobots and decepticons, smashing up Optimus feels a bit odd but is a nice twist.
If you enjoyed the first game but were wishing you could play 2 person co-op, definitely try this one out. Just don't expect it to be exactly like the first game, nor like the movie. The game can be best judged on its own and personally I still had a lot of fun playing it.
Ace Game
Fantastic game - bit hard at first but really enjoying playing it - I am 6 and my mummy is typing this for me. It's almost as cool as "Starwars" I like it because the game method is very similar to that in "Starwars".
